Two Weeks In And Chaos Ensues

Well, happy new year. A time where we can let go of the old and bring in the new and believe in

the bright future. Now, that would be so good if we were living in that moment however, we are not. We are only one-week in the new year, and chaos seems to follow this administration wherever it goes. This week alone, Renee' Nicole Good, 37 and a mother of three was brutally killed while steering her vehicle away from ICE agents who were in her community to trap and kidnap lawful human beings. Of course, ICE didn't like that and asked her to which she obliged and as she did so, the ego of a rejected failed human being, Johnathan Ross shot her three times in the head. But was he done, of course not, he ended up calling her a "fucking bitch" for good measure. As expected, this administration went on full code mode without even seeing the video for themselves before rigormortis set in and claimed ICE was just doing their jobs and that Good, the actual victim in this crime was a domestic terrorist. It would be completely comical if it weren't true. And of course, somehow some way, black folks get caught in the mist of the chaos, because one week prior, a gentleman named Keith Porter, was allegedly killed by an off-duty ICE agent in their apartment due to a loud music complaint. Of course, we didn't hear about this because we weren't supposed to like so many others. We have never been closer to a war of good and evil and still nothing has been done. I am tired, we all are tired. Every day it seems like a shock to our conscious of what we are dealing with and those who can shift the atmosphere are refusing to do so out of fear. Truth be told, this is a good reason as to why I do not cover as much politics as I have before. Not because I want to ignore the fate of the world, it's because we don't care like we should. We see a common threat, and no one seems to step in out of fear or intimidation. I get it, Trump is a thuggish bully who believes the world should grovel at his feet, but even so-called kings got put in their place. Those who vote his way publicly but despise him secretly are just as big a problem. The thought of three more years scares me. He is the absolute worst and yet it feels like there is no end to this madness he created. Despite all of the issues he has caused, I remain hopeful. Hopeful in a place that recognizes once his reign of terror ends, we will all be better for it. Not wanting to go back to a system of idolatry to a cult fascist wanna be dictator but to a promise of true liberty and justice for all. While I recognize there are people who did vote for him who might now have a change of heart, there are some who see no speck in his eye and would do so again if they had the chance. We can't change them, let them be. If anything, 2026 gives me a reason to hope for change that starts small but have resounding impacts on our communities. I don't seek the government to save us, I never have. But it is up to us to make sure it holds its end of the bargain. Moving forward, let's focus not on the chaos this administration and life in general intentionally brings, but more so loving the fact that change starts by correction. Once that is done, it will be hard to reverse, but it will only happen if we get tired of repeating the lies that lead to a downfall that at times affects us all even if we try to not get involved.
