Finally, Democrats Have A Backbone

It may have taken 100 years (sarcastically speaking), but I believe the Democrats of 2025 aint never

scared in the words of rapper, Bone Crusher. Now, would we have preferred this kind of enthusiasm before cheeto\puff came back into power, yes, but as the saying goes, better later than never. Earlier this month, Texas Democrats took off on flight to avoid Governor Abbott of Texas atrocious power grab to gerrymander particular counties in Texas that will heavily affect people of color leaving them with no representation all to avoid the inevitable loss they know is approaching during the midterms. Why, well depending on who you ask, "because we can". And by that they, meaning Republicans, feel because their king who can do no wrong told them by any means get the job done by stealing, then that is what they're going to do. Typical. It has not even been an entire year, and even hardcore Republicans are jumping ship. Something they just knew (but couldn't comprehend until now) would not go in their favor. So, what did the Texas Democrats do, try to save humanity by saying absolutely not to this overreach. This of course, eventually caught the attention of other blue states like California, whose Governor, Gavin Newsome said that if Texas moves with their plan to redistrict to rig the political outcome, they will have no choice but to counter their actions. As a native Texan, I applaud Newsome and hope he is willing to move with those promises and by all accounts it looks like he is by signing the redistricting this past week. This is what needs to be done to stop the corruption that is at play. It is obvious that the Republicans bit off more they can chew. They tried to rewrite history by insisting in so many words that black people focus too much on slavery and removing iconic artifacts from museum's because they want us to focus on the now. They threatened any school who has any remnants of DEI in their curriculum that they will be defunded. They are arresting innocent American citizens who have the audacity to speak Spanish in public despite what their papers say. Not to mention the way this administration really wants us to go out in the street to protest every bait and switch they pull only for them to beat and kill us. They are trying every tactic known to man and we're just chilling. There is a lot I can say about the Democrats. They try too hard to be your friend, they don't fight hard enough, they try to play by the rules of decorum. None of which have worked. But now, I believe they got the message. There is no playing nice with these people on the playground. You must get active and by active, I mean in the mud. We must let them know the days of the old Democrats wanting to kumbaya is over. If you need me to curse you out on the house floor, if that's what it takes, so be it. Trump and his cronies see what's ahead, and like the iceberg hitting a certain famous ship, every last one of them are about to go under and it's all due to their own doing, so let's just sit back and watch. Way to go, Democrats.
